However they either disregard it completely as "someting that just happened" or don't inlcude it in their marketing because its too awful to tell in pleasant company or don't think they have a story at all.

Back in my early thrities I worked in a publishing company. They commenced trading just before one of the big share market crashes

BIG MISTAKE because they had a created a weekly employment magazine, given out for free at majoy railway stations around the city.

City businesses started retrenching not employing.

I'd already had a couple of retrenchment notches well and truly carved into my belt and being a bit of a "fall down, get up and get on with it" kind of gal - I didn't understand why we were getting all these letters to the editor from people telling us that retrenchment was helping them to "FIND THEMSELVES".

I entertained the office for days musing where people might go to look for themselves - at the beach - maybe under a rock - perhaps they'd left themselves under the bed - on a bus - behind a curtain? Finally I figured it out - they were where the one missing ear ring and sock goes!

It wasn't until I got to my early forties that I understood fully what these poor people had gone through. I munched on a big piece of humble pie the day I too discovered I needed to "find myself".

I did the meditation, the "spiritual" thing, I left my well paid corporate job and did a risky tree change to the country, when really I was a city gal at heart.

There were a lot of tears before bedtime and more thrashing about than was absolutely necessary as I sought out this thing called "passion and purpose".

I'm still finding bits of myself but somewhere in a ten year nightmare I eventually found my passion and purpose.

The irony is that my passion and purpose now is exactly the same as it was when my heart started gnawing all those years ago.

FINALLY I "found myself" but I'd been there all the time!

I just had a few more miles on the clock, that's all!

I work with a lot of natural therapists, coaches , personal trainers because when I first set up I thought those were the only people with heart (please remember I worked in the pointy of corporate cleaning up nasty problems - it gave me a jaded view of the world).

But I've come to understand there are many passionate people who have a heap of heart and soul in their business. You only need to visit our local farmers market and hear growers talking about their veges, or a chef talking about their cooking.

Passion abounds everywhere but passionate people often leave a heap of money on the table - simply becuase they don't know it is sitting there.
